Spent yesterday in
Graham Bignell’s letterpress. The brief was to, as a group, produce a poster to motivate success; how does one
make it as a designer? Instead of a list of instructions or rules (some not that inspiring) we opted for the sometimes overwhelming reminder that to get the best possible design you have to do something again and again and again (repeat). It reminded me of one of the ideas floated about in Malcolm Gladwell’s
Outliers. Each person produced one block of
and again(s) that was then brought together. The aesthetic of the whole letterpress room, not just the finished poster, was amazing. Here’s hoping to revisit soon.
Photos of process, my contribution and finished poster
after the jump, only had an iPhone with me so when I get my edition will up a proper photo.
